Jewellery Care Guide

Gold Vermeil

Gold vermeil is a premium jewellery finish made by layering genuine gold over sterling silver. To be considered true vermeil, the gold layer must be at least 2.5 microns thick, making it much more durable than standard gold-plated pieces. The base of sterling silver adds strength and value, making it an excellent choice for those who want the luxurious look of solid gold at a more accessible price.

Care Tips

  • Remove before showering, swimming, or exercising.

  • Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, oils, and alcohol-based products.

  • Store in a soft pouch or jewellery box, away from sunlight and humidity.

  • Keep pieces separate to avoid scratches.

Cleaning

  • Wipe gently with a dry, soft cloth after each wear.

  • For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild soap, then rinse and dry thoroughly.

  • Do not soak or scrub.

  • Avoid chemical or abrasive cleaners.

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver is made from 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals (typically copper) for added strength. It’s durable, elegant, and has been used in jewellery for centuries. It’s also fully recyclable, making it a sustainable and thoughtful choice.

Care Tips

  • Store in a dry place, ideally in a soft pouch or lined box.

  • Avoid water, lotions, perfumes, and chemicals.

  • Remove during workouts or physical activities to prevent damage.

Cleaning

  • Use a silver polishing cloth regularly to prevent tarnish.

  • Clean with mild soap and warm water, then rinse and dry thoroughly.

  • Silver-safe commercial cleaners can be used occasionally.

Gold Plated

Gold plated jewellery has a thin layer of real gold over a base metal like brass or copper. It gives the look of gold at a lower cost, but the thin gold layer is more delicate and can wear over time.

Care Tips

  • Keep dry and avoid exposure to water, sweat, lotions, and perfumes.

  • Remove before showering, swimming, or exercising.

  • Store in a soft pouch or box to avoid scratching.

Cleaning

  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after each wear.

  • If needed, use a lightly damp cloth with mild soap, wiping very gently.

  • Do not scrub, soak, or use harsh or commercial cleaners.
